Warning signs of emotional abuse
- Constantly putting you down or making you feel worthless
- Controlling what you do, who you see, and what you say
- Telling you that you are to blame for the abuse and their bad behavior
- Threatening you or making you feel unsafe
- Ignoring you or isolating you from your friends and family
- Making you the subject of jokes and humiliating you in front of others

- If you are being emotionally abused, it is important to get help. Talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent, teacher, or counsellor.
- Find out what a healthy relationship should look like.
- Don’t be afraid to say no. It’s okay to set boundaries and say no to things that you don’t want to do.
- Spend time with people who make you feel good about yourself. Surround yourself with supportive friends and family members who love and care about you
- Learn how to leave an unhealthy relationship safely.
